To be let out everyday for at least 1 - 2 hour play time (always make sure they are able to jump back in cage whenever they want)
Dust baths 10 minutes a day to keep their fur clean, do not leave this in the cage or they will get skin problems
They need a cage at least 3 tier high
Ledges in their cage so they can jump around
Willow sticks to chew on to keep their teeth strong
Only ONE raisin a day otherwise they can become overweight very easily
a cooling plate in their cage to keep them nice and cool, they cannot go over 25 degrees or they can have heat stokes and go into comas, this usually will result in death
Make sure you have a thermometer to measure the temp of the room
Never put the cage near a radiator or in direct sunlight
Make sure when you let them out it is a safe area for them to play in
Never grab your chinchilla, these animals do not like that allow them to walk onto your hands, scaring them could cause fur slip (This is where they loose their fur due to being scared) Females will even spray you if they feel threatened
